On 4/1, Gwen blogged about some robberies in Anchorage. My response is here, but I also posted a brief and civil comment on her blog highlighting the relevance of the Alaska Constitution and explaining that the Second Amendment to the US Constitution is irrelevant due to incorporation doctrine. I also highlighted that the Alaska Constitution had been amended as recently as 1994 and explicitly declared the RKBA to be an individual right.
While this comment was initially approved, I see that it has been removed.
Reasoned Discourse (tm) strikes again. The whole "a majority of Alaskans recently affirmed this in 1994 and moreover clearly stated that the RKBA is an individual right" doesn't go well with the whole "the right to keep and bear arms is an embarrassing relic from a bygone age" meme. As usual, the anti-self defense crowd prefers to ignore facts and reason rather than engage. This is why I post counterpoints on my blog, instead of relying on comments which can be deleted.
I don't mean to be rude or condescending, but I'm just calling the lack of intellectual honesty and rigor like I see it.
