- Eat a piece of fruit at least 1x/day. While on the road I got into a really good habit of grabbing a piece of hand fruit at lunch to eat later during the afternoon. It was a double benefit: eating more fruit is good, and having a healthy snack at hand kept me from grabbing something unhealthy when the mid-afternoon munchies hit. I've already decided that smoothies count, but only occasionally.
- Finish Hunter's Education. Hunter's Education isn't really needed for most places in Alaska. However, it is mandatory in most places Outside. In the event that we move, I want to have it knocked out. If we stay here, then it will be nice to open up opportunities close to home in unit 14C. I have the web-based test done but need to knock out the field day. Also, it is a way to become a more responsible hunter and learn a bit more about things that I don't know as much about (for example, right now Heather is the shotgun bird guru and I am better with rifles/revolvers; this will round us out!).
- Obtain my Alaska CCW Permit. Just like hunter's ed, CCW permits are generally unnecessary in Alaska. However, in that event that I have to move I want to have that Alaska permit for reciprocity purposes. Most states that I would care to visit accept Alaska CCW permits.
- Take a Defensive Handgun Course. I want to improve my handgun shooting skills. I want to take DH I with AK Tactical in 2011.
- Complete at least 3 more Master's credits. I am almost done with my master's degree. I want to knock out at least 3 more Master's credits this year; I'd do more but if I move I don't think taking classes is possible, and I am not eligible for more financial assistance until the middle of the year anyways. If I don't end up moving then I want to finish the degree.
- Play in the Snow! I want to go skiing at least three times, do one more snowshoe trip, and go snow machining at least once this winter.
- Spring Hunt: I want to put together a spring bear hunt with DW, or...
- Bear Viewing: If we don't go bear hunting, I want to fly down to Katmai to see the coastal brownies. That's one Alaska thing I haven't done yet!
