To quote Joan Peterson's own comments when the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence "outed" Tango, "Thanks. Hopefully now that he is revealed, he will stop harassing us and calling us ugly names," and when the CSGV "outed" ThirdPower, "Thanks for the name. We need to keep track of these folks."
Joan really has no place to complain if other people use the same tactics she has so heartily endorsed in the past.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander, isn't it? It's like WMDs; if both sides can employ them, then neither side will. That of course assumes that all parties involved are sane. There is some question about that.
I think her position makes more sense if you remember that in her view, we are all felons that have yet to be convicted. That's why she feels a need to register us like sex offenders, highly restrict our activities, and otherwise "keep track of these folks."
What is ironic here is that her family owns at least one sporting arm too, so I wonder what bizarre reasoning distinguishes us from her.
Two young adults talking about personal responsibility, public service, civic preparedness, and whatever else crosses our minds.

For her, those firearms are only for hunting, only and explicitly, and that makes her different from the rest of us "treasonous" "insurrectionists".
