Update on Nathan Haddad

Nathan Haddad is an honorably discharged veteran who was recently arrested and charged with seven felonies for possession of a box with a spring in it (standard capacity magazines) by NY.

His legal defense fund has released an update on the case:

Yesterday’s court proceedings clarified things! The Jefferson County District Attorney’s office is more interested in political expediency than justice. THAT IS A MISTAKE!\

Consultations between Nathan’s attorney Seth Buchman and a team of attorneys specializing in the 2nd Amendment and Constitutional law have already occurred. In addition, outside organizations including the NRA and The 2nd Amendment Foundation are aware of and involved in this action. Strategy is being debated, planned out and implemented.

I want to add a special thanks to Emily Miller at the Washington Times for her careful, fair and accurate reporting. In a time when most reporters simply carry water for the government Emily truly stands out as wanting to find "truth." 

We will continue to raise funds and are prepared to take this as far as necessary to obtain justice. Nathan did not choose this path but he is on it. If this path takes him to the Supreme Court of the United States that is where we will go!

Thus far, Mr. Haddad has raised almost $40K from 978 donors (about $40/donor).  It looks like the Jefferson County, NY DA's office is refusing to settle or drop the charges, but on the plus side, SAF & NRA are getting involved.

Of note, there are well over 50,000 sworn law enforcement officers in the state of New York.  I keep being told that individual officers support the 2A and don't like the SAFE Act.  If that is the case, how come a sworn LEO enforced a bullshit victimless crime on Mr. Haddad?  How come all those pro-2A cops aren't dropping Mr. Haddad $10?  I would think that if NY cops were actually pro-2A they'd be happy to support such a cause.

Or, maybe they just want their LEO exemption to SAFE act and will gleefully harass serfs tax slaves residents of New York who dare to load up more than seven rounds in a mag or have an undocumented rifle.
